Workmanship Warranty

Effective Date: 01/01/2022

At Palmer St Plumbing, we are committed to delivering high-quality plumbing services to homes and businesses across Nambucca Valley, Bellingen Shire & surrounding areas. We stand by our work with a workmanship warranty that complies with the NSW Home Building Act 1989 and Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Warranty Period

Under NSW law, plumbing work is covered by the following warranty periods:

  • Major Plumbing Defects: Six years from the date of completion.

  • Minor Plumbing Defects: Two years from the date of completion.

If a defect arises within these timeframes due to our workmanship, we will repair it at no additional cost.

Major defects include structural issues or failures that make a building uninhabitable or unsafe.
Minor defects include leaks, faulty installations, or non-structural plumbing failures.

2. What is Covered

This workmanship warranty applies to:

  • Plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance services

  • Work completed to Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3500)

  • Compliance with NSW Fair Trading requirements

  • Rectification of faulty workmanship that causes plumbing failures

3. What is Not Covered

This workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • Plumbing issues arising from normal wear and tear

  • Manufacturer defects in materials, fixtures, or appliances (covered by the manufacturer’s warranty)

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or third-party alterations

  • Issues resulting from external factors such as tree root intrusion, natural disasters, or water pressure fluctuations

  • Blocked drains caused by new obstructions after service completion

4. Manufacturer Warranties on Parts and Materials

All plumbing fixtures, appliances, and materials used in our work are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties.

  • If a product is faulty, the manufacturer is responsible for replacement or repair.

  • We will assist customers in making a warranty claim, but replacement costs are subject to the manufacturer’s terms.
